Jered Taylor has lived in Christian County for 20 years and lives on a small hobby farm with his wife and four children. Jered started serving people at a young age through church activities including missions on a local, national and international level. He and his family are active members of Second Baptist Church where he serves in multiple roles, including teaching Sunday School for the high school boys, Hannah sings on praise team and his children serve in varying capacities.
Along with serving the community through non-profit organizations, Jered served as State Representative for Western Christian County for 8 years until he was term limited. Jered worked on Second Amendment legislation, including passing the Second Amendment Preservation Act, to protect law abiding Missouri Citizens from an overreaching, out of control federal government. Jered was chair of several committees to hold government accountable and investigate waste, fraud, and abuse in our state government. Jered also served as the chair of the Conservative Caucus, where he worked with fellow legislators to prevent bad legislation from passing and promote limited government, low tax, and less regulation legislation in Jefferson City.
Jered currently works for Congressman Eric Burlison in the Springfield District office where he is a Field Representative, working with community leaders, business leaders, non-profit organizations, and elected officials across southwest Missouri. Working for the Congressman has allowed him to hear the needs and concerns of the people of Christian County. As a small business owner and meeting with numerous small business owners, Jered has an understanding of the challenges that small businesses and developers face in Christian County. He also knows how businesses operate and knows how to manage a budget, with experience working on budgets in corporate America, private sector, and government, serving on the budget committee in the Missouri Legislature.
